Hawthorne E. Welcher, Jr., the czar of Housing Development, was appointed to Director of the Augusta, GA Housing and Community Development Department in July 2015. In support of the Augusta, GA Commission, and Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr’s. “One Augusta”, initiative, under Welcher’s watch, over 1,000 housing units have been developed across the CSRA. His passion driven approach has fostered collaboration with local and global partners such as Warrick Dunn Charities, Columbia Ventures, and most recently his key role in the continued revitalization of the historic Laney Walker/Bethlehem neighborhoods. For over twenty years, authentic phrases such as Restore, Connect, Transform; Greater Good; Support Plus Trust Equals Halfway has guided his exceptional career in the field of community and economic development.
Although his heart is bow-tied to his mission to serve, Welcher holds true to his commitment to Christ and his family, Shantanet Welcher, his wife, and their two children Zyian Welcher and Hawthorne E. Welcher, III; his Dream Team.

Linda Nunnelly is an Associate Principal and Director of Atlanta Operations for Moody Nolan, Inc, the largest African American owned architecture firm in the nation. Linda has spent more than twenty years in the AEC industry working on numerous project types with particular emphasis on K-12 and collegiate education, community recreation, healthcare and civic/institutional. Prior to launching Moody Nolan’s Atlanta office in 2018, Linda established and oversaw the Washington, DC office for the firm.
Linda graduated from Howard University School of Architecture and Planning with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She is also a graduate of Turner School of Construction Management. Linda is a LEED Accredited Professional with the United States Green Building Council. Outside of work, Linda enjoys reading, hiking and walks with her maltipoo Sophie.

Aundre is Managing Partner of AoRa Development. His role is to find, evaluate, underwrite, and raise equity and debt capital for the company’s portfolio. He is instrumental in creating the architectural design and vision for AoRa’s projects. He implements various strategies to find undervalued acquisitions and development sites. Once acquired, he manages the process from start to finish, ensuring the latest technologies are applied for the most efficient and expedient building methods. Aundre prioritizes sustainability, through the utilization of renewable energy sources, municipal tax incentives and programs, PACE equity, the latest PropTech solutions, property management software, and offsite construction. He is a modular construction expert that speaking at World of Modular and other notable conferences and podcasts. As a result, these practices, he increases IRR for investors and the firm. Aundre has completed the Cornell commercial real estate and Columbia’s Construction Finance Management certifications. Aundre was appointed Chair of the Offsite Construction Council with the National Institute of Building Sciences, a member of NYREC, and recently appointed as a board member for EIC NY PACE. Aundre partnered with Future Insights to win the NYC DOB “Hack the Building Code” contest. The software solution will reduce the permit approval process by 80% and generate millions for NYC by using automated code checking software.
Eugene James is a Vice President at Quantum National Bank in the construction lending department. He specializes in providing residential construction loans to builders, developers and investors. He has more than 35 years of combined real estate experience including conducting market studies for builders and lenders and has advised state and local governments on multiple housing related issues. Previously Eugene was the Chief Investment Officer for a regional home builder where he purchased and sold large tracts of land for new home subdivisions. He served as the Senior Regional Director for Metrostudy, a national market intelligence company that specializes in researching the residential real estate market. Eugene has served in various analytical and managerial capacities in the property tax appraisal industry including as chief appraiser for DeKalb and Fulton counties. He graduated from the University of the District of Columbia with a degree in Business, is a licensed real estate broker and a real estate appraiser. He is married and has two teenaged children.
Ferguson recently served as Senior Vice President, Development & Operations for The American Opportunity Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit investor and owner of affordable workforce housing, and as Invest Atlanta’s Senior Vice President of Community Development. Ferguson’s vision and passion guided his career to serve with organizations that help build vibrant communities and increase economic prosperity for all Atlantans and moderate-to-low-income persons and families across the nation. His background at Fannie Mae’s Lender Channel honed his housing, commercial real estate, business finance, public finance, equity investments, and community and economic development expertise.
Ferguson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Banking & Finance from Morehouse College, an MBA from The Goizueta Business School at Emory University and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University. He pursued doctoral studies (ABD) in Real Estate Finance at Georgia State University and is currently completing his dissertation requirements for a PhD in Entrepreneurship & Innovation at The University of the Cumberlands. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in South DeKalb, he resides in Atlanta with Janelle, his wife of nearly 27 years, and two children, who are both pursuing graduate and undergraduate studies at Georgia State University.
“As early as my high school years in South Dekalb, I was inspired to change the pattern of disinvestment in my community,” Ferguson said. “In my public and private sector work on affordability and neighborhood transformation, I have seen first-hand the powerful impact Atlanta Habitat for Humanity has on Atlanta. Atlanta Habitat is creating future-forward solutions to address Atlanta’s affordable housing availability, one of the most critical issues facing our city and our nation.”
Ashley Nicole Scott is a visionary entrepreneur, creative executive, REALTOR, and CEO of The Mobile Mavens, an Atlanta-based full-service marketing agency specializing in digital marketing for real estate agents and small businesses. Mrs. Scott currently works with Keller Williams Premier serving metro Atlanta. She also serves as the Chief Communications Officer of The Freedom Georgia Initiative formed in 2020 to create a thriving safe haven for black families in response to dealing with racial trauma, a global pandemic, and social-economic instabilities.
Mrs.Scott is not only a real estate agent but an activist and public speaker helping to amplify the story of how 19 Black families purchased over 502 acres of land 2-hours south of Metro Atlanta to implement their vision of an environmentally friendly, self-sufficient, intentional community that will be a model for food sovereignty, climate justice, and collective power for Black families and their allies.
Ashley Scott is a 2008 graduate of Bennett College for Women with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is a member of the National Association of REALTORS, the NAACP, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and sits on the Board of the Black Achievement Fund and the Greater Georgia Black Chamber of Commerce. A sought-after inspirational speaker and content contributor, Ashley's is recognized from her two appearances on Earn Your Leisure (Apple’s #1 Business Podcast), CNN, and the Black News Channel. Booker T. Washington, born in Tuskegee, Alabama has made Atlanta home for over 30 years. Raised by a single mother and youngest sibling of three, Booker has been a driven entrepreneur since the age of 12, utilizing instilled values to innovate, disrupt, and impact his community. As a native of Atlanta, Booker attended Georgia Southern University and his educational background is Human Resources and Business Administration.
Prior to being a full-time real estate developer, Mr. Washington had a successful 15-year career as an executive for notable brands such as Southwest Grill, Atlanta Falcons/Mercedes Benz-Stadium, and Tesla. As a leader at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Booker developed, and implemented event training efforts for over 2,500 employees for the 2019 Super Bowl hosted in Atlanta.

Daryl C. Jones serves as Senior Vice President of Integral’s Community Development Division and as the leader of the company’s Senior Housing Platform. In this capacity, Mr. Jones is responsible for Integral’s senior housing product line, which includes affordable independent senior living residences (known as Veranda) and assisted living residences (known as Oasis). He dedicated several years leading the company’s efforts in obtaining the necessary resources and formulating the required policies to launch the affordable assisted living product.
Mr. Jones is no new player at initiating new business lines. His perseverance,
leadership skills, and knowledge paid off while working for The Shelter Group as their Senior Vice President and Regional Partner. Mr. Jones successfully launched a new business unit for the new construction of elderly projects by utilizing an innovative financing model. In addition, under Mr. Jones’ leadership at Shelter, his group acquired and sold over $1 billion of multi-family assets, primarily in the mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Texas. As a results oriented leader, he was able to achieve for Shelter and its equity partners an overall leveraged return of over 25% through these investments. Mr. Jones continues to employ his “out of the box’ and innovative financing techniques to accomplish the tasks necessary to achieve bottom line results.
Complemented by his extensive experience, Mr. Jones is a High Honors Graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of the MuniMae Foundation, a board member of The Foundation of Wesley Woods, a founding board member of Genesis Innovation Academy (charter school), and is on the REAP Advisory Committee (diversity initiative for professional commercial real estate training).
